Spanish SPS Siroco

SPS SIROCO alongside at Taranto naval base. She is a Spanish Agosta class Submarine of 1700Tns and was commissioned in 1983.
Submarines such as the SPS SIROCO are conned from the conning tower by the Officer of the Watch (OOW) or Commanding Officer (CO). Here she is enterting Taranto naval base.
The tug in the background is used to manoeuvre the submarine SPS SIROCO alongside the jetty at Taranto Naval Base.
The crew of the SPS SIROCO prepare to come alongside and recieve head and stern lines to secure the submarine.
 
The escape tower and hatch of the SPS SIROCO is used when the submarine has been disabled on the sea bed. Personnel onboard can be rescued using this hatch as well as objects such as Pods's ,containing life support equipment, through the hatch.
